The Histshorey project
The Shore’s history project was conceived by young people who attend The Shore; they successfully applied for Young Roots Heritage Lottery funding to carry out the 14 month project. They have been researching and promoting the history of the building and the docklands area.
A core group of 12 young people have been working to research the building, the people who lived here and the surrounding area. They presented their findings to the community by presenting guided tours at National doors open day on the 18 September 2010.
The next part of the project involves the core group acting as peer mentors to pass on their knowledge to other young people and lead an interpretation of the history through drama, art and film.
One of our latest activities in the project is the Monday evening Theatre Group where we are running workshops in drama and stage skills.
If you would like to try acting and performance or behind the scenes production and set designing, come and join us and you can take part in our forth coming Show of the Century – our performing arts event in the summer.

The Shore is a safe and secure alcohol and drug free venue.
